Lyndall's Great Step Out

Story

I was diagnosed with breast cancer on Valentine's Day 2011.  A roller coaster journey began for myself and my family, Peter, Andrew Karina and Rowan, with two surgeries, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and hormone treatment.  2011 revolved around appointments, dates and lots of traveling.  The BCNA was my life line when it came to all things breast cancer.  Within days of my diagnosis "My Journey Kit" arrived free and was a comprehensive resource of information I used daily.

I'm now healthy and will be fit and able to trek the Great Wall of China on 25 October 2014.  In this challenge I will use the strength and positively that I used in 2011 and it's my way of financially thanking the BCNA for their help and great work they do to ensure all Australians diagnosed with breast cancer and their families, receive the very best treatment, care and support possible.

For example

  • $30 gives 25 breast cancer survivors a copy of the The Beacon Magazine
  • $50 provides a newly diagnosed women with a My Journey Kit
  • $100 provides 95 women with a copy of our Sexual Wellbeing resource
  • $200 allows one breast cancer survivor to attend a free information forum

For every $50.00 I raise, it will allow the BCNA to sent a My Journey Kit to a newly diagnosed woman.  With some 40 women told that they have beast cancer daily that's $2000.00 a day the BCNA will need.

All money donated is tax deductible and goes directly to BCNA.  All costs associated with my trip to China will be self funded.  Your support to help raise much needed funds for the BCNA will be greatly appreciated!!

Thank you again for your help and support

Cheers Lyndall
